Junior Chamber International Malaysia presents the 2017 Leadership Summit

KUALA LUMPUR, 1st January 2017 – The 2017 Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM) Leadership Summit was held from 31st December 2016 until 1st January 2017 at Akademi Kenegaraan, Jalan Bellamy, Kuala Lumpur.  The program was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, Chairman of LKIM cum EXCO of iM4U Movement, also the MP for Kuala Selangor.

The 2017 JCIM Leadership Summit, held for the second year, aims to bring together all JCI Local Organizations Board of Directors and National Officers to train them for their role in 2017.  The program includes topics relevant to the Board of Directors such as corporate governance for NGOs, fund raising and sponsors management, briefing on the 2017 JCI Malaysia Awards Program and Local Officers training.

The event began on 31st Dec 2016 with a Scavenger Hunt to test the knowledge of the participants on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Malaysia basic principle and JCI programs and events.  During the welcome dinner, a Leadership Forum was held covering on Servant Leadership and Data Driven Leadership.  JCI Vice President assigned to Malaysia, Kongjoo Kim from Korea, also shared on the 2017 JCI plans.

During the Official Opening of 2017 JCIM Leadership Summit on 1st Jan 2017, the Official Handover Ceremony from the 2016 National President JCI Senator Dato Terry Ong to the 2017 National President JCI Senator Nurul-Huda Mohamed Afandi was held.  The Handover Ceremony was conducted and witnessed by the Guest of Honor, YB Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim and JCI Vice President assigned to Malaysia, Kongjoo Kim from Korea.  The 2017 National Board of Directors and Appointees were then officially introduced.

JCI Malaysia Global Passport Program was also officially launched for the first time in history.  This program was designed to motivate and encourage JCI members to actively participate in programs in their local community as well as in other local organisations events, national and international events.

JCI is an international nonprofit organization of nearly 200,000 young active citizens, ages 18 to 40 years, who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities and around the world.
